Michele Gastl was born in Milan in 1967. His passion for photography was so strong that he broke the dreams of his Tyrolean father, who wanted him to be an engineer. After a short period as an assistant in a still life studio, he decided to leave university, to devote himself completely to photography, spending his days in a basement to refine the technique on his own. His perseverance led him shortly after to open his own studio in Milan and his professionalism made him one of the most important Italian still life photographers today. After working 4 years in New York, he chose Milan as his base, from which he occasionally moves to work with agents who represent him in Paris, New York and Germany. Developing over time a solid technical ability and a refined artistic sensibility, Michele’s works lead to interesting creative experiments, characterized by greater freedom of expression.
